PET bottles processed into fibre and fabric for ECO-TECH polo shirts

From PET Bottle to Fabric

1. Collect — PET bottles are collected through recycling systems
2. Process — bottles are cleaned and shredded into flakes
3. Spin — flakes are melted and spun into recycled polyester (rPET) fibre
4. Create — the fibre is made into fabric and sewn into polo shirts

One ECO-TECH polo shirt uses fibre from approximately 12 recycled 600 ml PET bottles. This is an approximate figure based on the yarn manufacturer’s average; actual numbers vary by design and size.

Global Recycled Standard (GRS) mark for rPET fibre

GRS Certification: What It Covers

The rPET fibre used in ECO-TECH comes from raw material certified to the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) at the yarn supplier level — an international standard that verifies the recycled content of the raw material.

PRAYOOK does not hold a GRS Scope Certificate, so finished garments are not GRS-certified. On request, we can provide the supplier’s GRS documentation for the raw material as a reference for your ESG or sustainability reporting; please contact our team about documents for your production run.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is rPET fabric?

rPET is polyester fibre made from recycled PET plastic bottles. The bottles are cleaned, shredded and spun into new fibre, which is then made into fabric for uniforms.

How is an rPET polo shirt different from a standard polyester polo shirt?

Both are made from polyester fibre, but the starting raw material for rPET is recycled PET bottles instead of entirely new fibre. Our team can advise on wear and care for your intended use.

How many PET bottles go into one ECO-TECH polo shirt?

On average approximately 12 bottles (600 ml) per polo shirt, based on the yarn manufacturer’s data. Actual numbers vary by design and size.

Is the finished garment GRS-certified?

No. GRS certification applies to the raw material at the yarn supplier level. PRAYOOK does not hold a GRS Scope Certificate, so finished garments are not GRS-certified. We can provide the supplier’s raw-material documentation on request.

Can colours and styling follow our corporate identity?

Yes. Colours, collars, trims, piping and other details can be developed to match your brand identity, subject to the minimum requirements for custom dyeing.

Can our logo be embroidered or printed?

Yes. ECO-TECH supports both logo embroidery and screen printing, like PRAYOOK’s other standard uniforms.

What is the minimum order?

Starting from 100 pieces. Pricing and details depend on the requirements of each project.

Is ECO-TECH available for garments other than polo shirts?

Yes. ECO-TECH can be developed into T-shirts, activity or sports shirts and jackets, depending on the design and order quantity.
